[Back to the Future] is an old film to me because it filmed at 1985. He was older than me. However, it still attracted a lot of audiences after 26 years, include me.
Actually, Back to the future was a very successful science fiction film in the film history. It released simultaneously in 1200 North America theaters at July 3, 1985. Consecutive 11 weeks ranked top box office and to be the box office champion of 1985. After 5 years, the director filmed [Back to the Future2&3]. Thus, the series of [Back to the future] become classic in audience's heart.
Science fiction film also has characters and events just like other types film. Then, how directer show character's emotion in science fiction film?
·Things unheard of before
We always can find some things we unheard of before in the science fiction. Like strange science equipment or strange doctor. In [Back to the future], we also can find it.
These new things makes audiences interesting, also makes character different. Maybe the character who created it will feel normal or proud. Other characters in film maybe feel strange and inconceivable...Anyway, character's emotion will be changed by these things appeared.
·Details and foreshadowing
Everything we can see on the screen is useful to the film. In [Back to the future], we can see the film talk about something about "mayor", "bell tower", "band", "love between father and mother"... Why do we need to know these things? It looks has no necessarily linked to the story. But if you think like this you are wrong. Because these details are all foreshadowing. It will linked with something in following story. And these things will change character's emotion because it is director's design. If we haven't these foreshadowing, we can't let character's emotion changing.
